PASTORAL STAFF

Dennis Fledderjohann - Interim Pastor

Pastor Dennis currently serves as Interim Pastor. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Liz, for 51 years. For 22 of those years, he served as a professor at Moody Bible Institute in the Educational Ministries Division. Dennis enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with his four adult children and their families—including nine grandchildren.

Mark Eakley - Worship Pastor

Mark has served as Worship Pastor at FBC since March 2018. He is a graduate of Trinity International University, where he majored in Church Music. He is passionate about leading others in a meaningful worship experience! In his free time, Mark enjoys playing pop tunes on the piano, watching movies, and spending time with his wife, three daughters, son, and two dogs!

Johnny Elliott - Youth Pastor

Johnny serves as the Youth Pastor. Johnny is passionate about making disciples and encouraging people to grow in their relationship with Christ. He loves talking about God and helping people deepen their understanding of God's Word. He enjoys biking, working out, and playing sports. Johnny and his wife, Hannah, have been married since May 2015. They have one daughter and one son.

Rob Peterson - Minister of Maintenance

Rob has served at First Baptist for over 30 years. He currently serves as the Minister of Maintenance. He is responsible for keeping our facilities in excellent condition! He is passionate about serving the Lord and others. In his free time, Rob enjoys golfing, drinking chai lattes, and watching Chicago sports.

Shari Peterson - DGCS Principal

Shari has been the principal at Downers Grove Christian School for over four years. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Tennessee Temple University. Before becoming principal, she taught at Downers Grove Christian School for 10 years. In her free time, Shari enjoys spending time with her family and grandkids.

Betsey Singh - Office Administrator

Betsey joined the staff in November 2022 as Office Administrator and handles church communications. She and her husband, Luke, have attended First Baptist since 2017. They have two sons who keep them busy! Fun Fact: Betsey attended First Baptist Christian School (now DGCS) in the 90s. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and watching the Chicago Cubs.

Laurie McCabe - Children's Ministries Director

Laurie joined the staff as Children's Ministries Director last year. She and her husband, Ed, are faithful members of the church. Laurie has a wonderful heart to serve the youngest attenders of our church. She also leads one of our Women's Bible Studies. In her free time, she loves spending time with her grandchildren.
