We believe it is vital to care for people in all areas of life. Above all else, we're followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that He was the Son of God, and that He meant what He said to His disciples: "I have come that you may have life, and have life abundant". We have three recurring ministries that care for widows, seniors, and shut-ins. If you are wanting to get involved, please contact the church office.

Joyful Again is a support group for the unique needs of the widows within our congregation.  Each month they meet socially or do a service project to affirm God’s restoration of their heart. This is a safe, and comforting space, to heal. Although the loss of a spouse is one of the most devastating things a person could be confronted with, the love of the Lord as expressed through others experiencing the same thing demonstrates that indeed one can be joyful again.

Golden Heirs is a ministry for seniors.  It is a time for them to fellowship together in a casual setting.  This group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month (except July and August) at 1:00pm in the fellowship hall at the church.  Lunch is provided followed by a short time of devotion and prayer.  Other events are also planned giving the group an opportunity to see and do fun and interesting things together.   All in all, everyone looks forward to these times of camaraderie and fun.

There is nothing more meaningful to a person who rarely gets out than having a visitor! On the third Wednesday and Thursday mornings of each month a team from First Baptist Church goes out to visit shut ins. They go to the DuPage Convalescent Center and to various homes of those either shut in due to physical restrictions or due to aging for the purpose of encouraging them. This consists of listening, sharing Scripture, singing hymns and prayer. The team’s focus is Matthew 25:31-46.
