WHAT TO EXPECT

On Sunday morning, our Welcome Team will greet you and can help guide you to our kids area, worship, and answer questions.

We gather to worship Jesus at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM through contemporary and traditional music and the preaching of God's Word. Our services are identical - same music and sermon - and last about one hour and 15 minutes.

MY KIDS

We love kids and understand the importance of a safe environment for children to learn about Jesus.

We offer Nursery (ages 0-2) and Children's Church (Preschool-4th Grade) during both services.

Where are you located?

We are located in downtown Downers Grove, at the corner of Maple Avenue & Washington Street. Our address is 929 Maple Avenue, Downers Grove, IL 60515.

Currently, our Sanctuary is undergoing updates and improvements. During this time, please use our West Entrance doors, located behind our white Chapel and across from the Lincoln Center.

What time is service?

9:00 AM & 10:30 AM | Worship Service, Children's Church, and Nursery

During our Sanctuary Refresh Project, we will have two identical services. The 9 AM service is held in Fellowship Hall. The 10:30 AM service is held in our Chapel (white church building next to the Lincoln Center).

Where do I park?

1. The First Baptist Church parking garage entrance is located on Washington St., north of Maple Avenue. *Please use the entrance that says "Church Parking". The garage offers a wheelchair lift.

Sunday Parking Garage Hours: 7 am - 1 pm

2. Overflow parking located behind the Lincoln Center.

3. The Church Office parking lot is reserved for those with physical disabilities (located on Washington St., south of Maple Avenue).

4. Valet Service at the West Entrance (adjacent to Lincoln Center).

Is there something for my kids?

We teach God's Word in an engaging, age-appropriate way in Grove Kids.

Age Groups: Preschool (Ages 3&4); Kindergarten & 1st Grade; 2nd-4th Grade. We provide Nursery care for ages 0-2. Visit Grove Kids for more information.

Your child's safety is our priority. Please stop by our check-in station before service. After the service, please bring your parent badge to pick up your child.

What is a Sunday service like?

Sunday services last about 1 hour and 15 min. Communion service is held the first Sunday of each month.

Sunday services are usually a blend of both hymns and modern worship songs and include prayer and a sermon.

Is there a dress code?

We do not have a dress code. People wear suits and dresses, khakis and a button-down, or jeans and a top. We welcome everyone!

How do I join a group?

Visit our Grow Groups page to search for a group. You can request to join a group or get in touch with a leader for more information.

How can I get involved serving?

There are many ways to serve inside and outside the church walls - children's and Youth ministries, Meal Train, Grow Group leaders, Welcome Team, and more! Contact the Church Office for more information.
