Downers Grove Christian School

For over 50 years, Downers Grove Christian School (DGCS) has provided students with a Christ-centered, nurturing learning environment. The DGCS community of teachers, parents, and volunteers work together to create the best possible learning environment for children.

Established in 1970 as a ministry of First Baptist Church of Downers Grove, the mission of Downers Grove Christian School is to partner with parents to raise children up in wisdom and in faith, while challenging students academically, physically, and spiritually.

Downers Grove Christian School is centrally located in the heart of downtown Downers Grove, but students come from across the western suburbs, including Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Downers Grove, Lombard, Woodridge, Westmont, Darien and more.

Placement Testing: After new students register with the school, those entering Kindergarten through 8th grade will test to indicate their reading and math proficiency. Student’s test results will be communicated directly to the parents.

Please Note: Students entering Preschool 2 through Kindergarten must be the required age by September 1 of the current year.
