Alpha helps create space for honest conversation around some of life’s biggest questions through a series of interactive sessions. The sessions are designed to provide guests with an opportunity to share thoughts, ideas and opinions in a safe and caring environment.
Alpha meets weekly this Fall:
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 PM
Sept. 2 - Nov. 11
Our Next Gen programs (ages 0-18) run at the same time as Alpha. Dinner is provided for Alpha participants.

Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone! No matter your background, beliefs, or questions. Whether you follow a different faith, have no faith, or are just curious, Alpha is a welcoming space to explore life’s biggest questions in an open, honest conversation.
What happens at Alpha?
Each Alpha session includes time to connect, watch a short video, and have open, honest discussion. It’s relaxed, respectful, and designed to create space for real conversation, no matter your background or beliefs.
How long does Alpha last?
Alpha typically runs for 9 to 11 weeks, with each session lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours. Alpha at First Baptist Downers Grove runs from Sept 2 - Nov 11.
Is there something for my kids?
Yes! Your kids can participate in our Next Gen programs. Awana runs from 6:30-8:00 PM for Pre3-5th Grade. Youth Group runs 6:30-8:30 PM for 6th-12th Grade. We also have Nursery care for ages 0-2 during Alpha.
How do I sign up?
You can either click the "Participate" button above or just show up any night of Alpha! We encourage you to bring a friend, neighbor, or coworker, and come as you are!
Where do I park?
Parking is available behind the Lincoln Center (next door to FBC). Please use our West Entrance (look for the large white cross). You can also use neighborhood street parking. Our Welcome Team will greet you and give you a nametag when you arrive.
